At the beginning of this baseball season, Washington Nationals rookie manager Matt Williams asked his team to agree upon a word that would be their rally cry for the season. It was "tenacious."
"OK, go do it."
Tenacious: Not readily relinquishing a position, principle, or course of action; determined
Tenacity is why we never accept "no" for an answer. It's why we push further when others would give up. It's why we stretch out of our comfort zone. It's knowing that success is there, if only we work hard enough to find it. To be tenacious is to be willing to admit we might be following a wrong path, and have the humility to change course and look for another way.
